This direct field experience has enabled an in-depth understanding of the behaviour of cathodic protection systems in marine environments and their real performance over time.

From 1980 onwards, technical expertise evolved into an entrepreneurial vision focused on the development of skills, methodologies and structured processes in the field of cathodic protection.

Design quality, system reliability and long-term control became key elements of the engineering approach.

Since 2014, as founder partner and head of Research & Development at Tecnocorr, Silvestro Scotto has been guiding the evolution of cathodic protection systems towards more efficient, reliable and controllable solutions.

Increasing attention has been given to environmental effects and to the need to reduce invasive interventions and material dispersion in marine environments.

From 2020, research and development activities further expanded, exploring new technological applications and innovative management models for cathodic protection systems.

This phase laid the groundwork for a profound rethinking of the traditional concept of cathodic protection in marine applications.

Decades of experience in marine environments led to the awareness that traditional sacrificial anodes, as they are consumed, contribute to the dispersion of metals into the marine ecosystem.

From this awareness emerged the vision behind the E-Anode: an electronic cathodic protection system designed to reduce environmental impact, increase system control and improve long-term sustainability.

Since 2025, Silvestro Scotto has been responsible for the development of the new Tecnocorr Marine Division, dedicated to advanced cathodic protection solutions for marine environments.

The division was established to apply the E-Anode approach to boating and marine structures, combining industrial know-how, electronic control and respect for the marine environment.
